About Daisy's Mexican Burritos #1

Let me put you onto a spot that locals quietly swear by: Daisy's Mexican Burritos #1. Tucked along Kansas Avenue at 1046 Kansas Ave, Kansas City, KS 66105, this Mexican restaurant keeps things refreshingly simple while still delivering the kind of flavor that sticks with you long after the last bite. From the moment you step in, the vibe feels relaxed and familiar, like a neighborhood joint that knows exactly what it’s doing and doesn’t need to overcomplicate the experience. The menu leans heavily into comfort food, which honestly feels like the right move here, because every option is built for satisfaction rather than flash. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite between errands or settling in for a casual dine-in meal, the food comes out fast, hot, and full of bold Mexican flavors that don’t hold back. On busier days, delivery and takeaway make it easy to enjoy your favorites without slowing down your schedule, and that flexibility is a big reason people keep coming back. Another thing that stands out is how well Daisy’s fits into different moments of the day; it works just as well for late-night food cravings as it does for an easy lunch stop. Small plates are perfect if you want to sample a few things, while heartier portions handle those days when you’re seriously hungry. There’s also coffee available, which adds a nice touch and makes the place feel even more welcoming if you’re stopping by earlier or just need a pick-me-up. Overall, Daisy’s Mexican Burritos #1 feels approachable, dependable, and genuinely satisfying, the kind of restaurant you recommend without hesitation because you know it delivers every single time.

The best burrito I’ve had since living in SoCal. The burrito loco with steak and shrimp is muy delicioso. The tortilla was slightly charred/crisp on the outside and slightly doughy on the inside. Exactly how it should be. The meat tasted fresh and the bell peppers had a nice crunch. When you get take away they ask what salsa you want (green or red) and if you want it spicy. Go for spicy red and don’t ask for more. They give you two and two will perfectly suffice. I’m a salsa guy and this tasted homemade. This is fast food but it’s not. Expect to wait 5 mins even without anyone in front of you. There is no drive thru. Suggest eating there. They do a good job of clearing the tables and picking up after customers finish their meal. I really like this place.

We found this place on Google while up for a soccer tournament. We are a family of five who love to try new places to eat. It a nice little hole in the wall authentic Mexican. The food was fabulous and plenty in portions. I had the chemichanga. It was really good and huge. I was only able to eat half. Three of them got tacos. They had beef chicken and pork. They said they as worth the trip. My youngest got chicken nuggets and fries and finished all of it. The building was older but had a warm feel. The staff was very nice and helpful. The menu had plenty of options for everyone. They even sell Mexican style ice cream witch was my first time trying it. It was surprisingly good. Our over all impression was good. We will definitely stop back in.

Their burritos locos, and their breakfast burrito are straight money. They are very aggressive about the amount of sauce they give you on a to go order. The amount of sauce you want and should have for a burrito that huge you don't get. If you go in and eat you can have all the sauce you want to put on your burrito. It's crazy! They are not playin about the sauce. Food is excellent the people are nice and few of the employees speak English. It's in my hood so I definitely recommend Daisy's!

Have had both the pastor nachos and burrito loco and both have been so good. It’s a small building so I wouldn’t expect to eat there but they do have some seating. Friendly people.

What a spot. This a total hole in the wall locals only sort of spot. You have to know it's there almost, and man is worth finding. Flavor is paramount here. Spice is for sure. The Hawaiian torta was absolutely phenomenal, and the shrimp burrito was very spicy yet so flavorful and delicious we couldn't stop. The dining area was remarkably clean and well kept.

We went for a quick lunch and absolutely enjoyed it. I had the carnitas burrito and my friend had the chicken tacos. It was very good. My family owned Las Chiquitas for 53 years so I am pretty picky about Mexican food!!

If you’re looking for a good burrito, look no further because Daisy’s is your place!! To start, the salsa is phenomenal! It was seasoned extremely well and an excellent appetizer leading up to your actual meal. We ordered the Rancherito burrito which comes with steak, grilled onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños, and guacamole. We also ordered the shrimp burrito, which came with a lot of the same fillings, plus cabbage, rice, and red sauce. The moment I unwrapped the burrito I knew it was going to be spot on when I saw the homemade tortilla. The meats in each of the burritos was seasoned to absolute perfection and the grilled veggies were the icing on the cake! Whenever I’m in the Kansas City area Daisy’s will be a pit stop from now on!
